etary SpectriLight III software is supplied standard with the spectroradiometer and provides
easy setting of all ILT950 operating controls. It
has an integrated data analysis package that
facilitates spectral analysis. Wavelength range,
integration time, scan average and other controls can be set through pop-up windows,
menus and tool bars. Absolute irradiance and
chromaticity are calculated instantly. Color data
is verified against NIST-traceable standards.

Machine Vision Cameras
From high-speed automated inspection of
printed circuit boards to rapid 3-D mapping of
disaster areas, Imperx Inc. supports a wide
range of high-resolution video-capture applications with two 29-megapixel B6620 cameras.
High resolution is important for a variety of
video-capture applications, where large areas
must be viewed in fine detail. Shutter speeds of
up to 1.25 ; 10; 5 s freeze rapid motion. Frame
rates up to 2.4 fps follow rapidly evolving
scenes. Standard F-mount enables fitting the
cameras to almost any optical system requirement. The cameras’ ability to image at light
levels as low as 1 lx (f/1.4) enables capturing
dimly lit scenes. The cameras are suitable for
research and testing applications under harsh
conditions. Applications include military reconnaissance, automated vehicle navigation and
biomedical research.

Hall Effect Measurement
Lake Shore Cryotronics Inc., in collaboration
with Toyo Corp., has introduced the 8400 series, a Hall effect measurement system with optional AC field measurement capability. Hall
mobilities down to 0.001 cm2/V can be measured, lower than is possible using traditional DC
field Hall measurement techniques. An emerging class of photovoltaic, thermoelectric and
organic electronic materials is characterized by
low mobilities that are difficult to measure. The
DC field Hall measurement technique has been
sufficient to measure materials with mobilities
down to ~1 cm2/V, but it is challenging to extract the diminishingly small Hall voltage from
the background noise produced by such materials. The Model 8404 Hall system provides a
robust platform to which new features can be
added as material measurement needs evolve.
