tant Pyrex tubes are durable and can withstand
the rigors of marine and industrial applications.
By using LED tubes instead of fluorescent bulbs,
the company has reduced fixture weight and
maintenance issues.

Solar Simulator Measurement
Ocean Optics’ RaySphere measures absolute
irradiance over spectral ranges from the UV to
the NIR (380 to 1700 nm), including solar simu-
lators and other radiant sources. The portable
system is used by solar simulator manufacturers
and research and development labs to validate
the output of installed solar flashlamps. The
flash of a solar simulator is used within the pho-
tovoltaic manufacturing process for the binning
of cells according to spectral response and for
final photovoltaic module efficiency measure-
ments. The system provides the necessary accu-
racy and resolution to measure and analyze the
performance and stability of the flasher, with
ultralow-jitter triggering electronics for timing
the measurement to the flashes.

LEDdynamics Inc. has expanded its LUXdrive
line of high-power, constant-current drivers with
the release of the A011 FlexBlock. The LED
driver, configurable in either boost-only or
buck-boost modes, is suitable for driving the
new high-brightness, high-power LEDs and LED
arrays. It is available in 350- and 700-mA ver-
sions, has a low profile and measures 2 ; 1.2
; 0.38 in. The FlexBlock operates from an input
voltage of 10 to 32 VDC and provides a maxi-
mum output voltage of 48 VDC. In buck-boost
mode, the output voltage may be less than,
equal to or higher than the input voltage. In
many applications, it can be operated with no
additional heat sinking. The dimmable A011 is
compatible with many 0 to 10-VDC low-voltage
dimming controls.
Newport Corp. has announced its stand-alone
IMS-LM-SA series long-travel linear motor
stages. Based on a stiff body design, the self-supporting stages are available in 800-, 1000-
and 1200-mm travel and do not require ultra-flat mounting surfaces. They are suited for high-precision, light-to-medium industrial applications that carry up to 10-kg loads, including
semiconductor wafer inspection, microelectronics test and assembly, pick and place, DNA sequencing, laser machining, bioprinting and tissue engineering. Features include industrial-grade direct-drive linear motors, direct-read linear encoders, recirculating ball bearings and an
